Welcome to “A Conversation for Transformation”

“Today is the day your book begins……….”

In one moment you suddenly have an inspired idea – and that moment changes the rest of your life.

But how do you get that inspired idea?

I have found that the greatest inspiration has come to me when life has knocked me down.

When I found myself on the floor,  in the pit of despair – completely unglued – I accepted that I had finally come to nothing.

I was alone. I knew nothing. I was nothing.  I was nobody. No identity. There was no justice. It was all empty and meaningless.

I sat in the nothingness, experiencing the impact of being nothing, having nothing, having nothing to look forward to, no support, utterly abandoned.

In the midst of this nothingness,  I moved through the layers of experience, the stuckness, the denial, the fear of being humiliated, the guilt, the blame, the sadness, the grief over all the lost opportunities, the waste of my talent and resources….Completely disempowered.

I sat with it, and let the impact of what I had believed to be my identity, my story of how I got here to this place of utter despair, dissolve.

I just let it wash over me, and embraced it all.

And that is when the miracle came.

It came to me that if I had nothing, I had nothing to lose.

In the words of Janis Joplin:

“Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose,
Nothing don’t mean nothing honey if it ain’t free!”

I realized that I had created my life this way that had me feeling trapped and controlled by circumstanes.

If it was to transform, it was totally up to me.

I was completely free!

There was nobody to save me.

Nobody had done anything to me against my will.

I was completely responsible for getting myself into that place, and for getting myself out.

If it all meant nothing, then it could mean everything.

I was free to create it any way I chose.

I had a choice.

I could listen to all the voices of despair, or pick myself up off the floor, get moving and create something wonderful out of my life.

I was free to return to the wild, free, joyous creativity that had never left me.

In that moment of surrender, I accepted my experience of disempowerment and chose freedom.

I chose to step up, to step into the Light, and be the Source of that Light for others.

I chose to create a life of my own design that would totally rock my world.

I chose to create A Conversation for Transformation, a conversation with you.

  3. Hi Shelora, this excerpt was especially relevant for me, especially because my extended family has been going through a tough time, and this wisdom can be tough to pass on.
